Looking at challenges to the health of the elderly in China -- including increasing rates of obesity, cigarette smoking, and urban pollution -- James Smith, John Strauss, and Yaohui Zhao say policy changes are needed to ensure the well-being of this growing population. Smith says: "Government policies need to focus on improving health behaviors, combatting pollution and allowing elderly parents to live with their adult children."
