The Decadal Survey of Behavioral and Social Science Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Dementias will hold its second public workshop on October 17, 2019. The workshop will include discussions of commissioned papers on the following topics:
– data on disease prevalence and suggested improvements for data collection
– available interventions and supports for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias, and the extant research on these interventions and supports
– available interventions and supports for individuals who provide care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias (i.e. family members, paid in-home caregivers, and caregivers employed in facilities), and the extant research on these interventions and supports
– health disparities among populations living with Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias
– understanding the socioeconomic impact of Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias – a health economics and public policy perspective
– defining different types of dementia
Following the commissioned paper discussions, there will be a panel discussion on measuring the effects of caregiving.
