Clin-STAR Webinar Series: Missing Data

Tuesday, June 29 from 2-3pm ET & Tuesday, July 13 from 3-4pm ET

Organized by the Clin-STAR Coordinating Center in partnership with the Clin-STAR Academic Resource Center at Yale. This webinar series is co-sponsored by the Research Centers Collaborative Network, the US Deprescribing Research Network, and the AGING Initiative.

The Clin-STAR Coordinating Center, in partnership with the Clin-STAR Academic Resource Center at the Yale School of Medicine, is hosting a two-part webinar series on how to prevent and manage missing data.

Both sessions will include an audience Q&A following the presentation, moderated by Clin-STAR Coordinating Center Principal Investigator Thomas Gill. The webinar series will be recorded and available on the Clin-STAR website.

The second webinar, Pound of Cure: Understanding and Incorporating Missing Data into Biostatistical Analyses, will be held on Tuesday, July 13 from 3-4pm ET with speaker Terrence E. Murphy.

This session is designed to:

  1. Recognize the two major types of missing data (MAR and MNAR)
  2. Understand the analytical need and strategy for multiple imputation
  3. Learn how to incorporate multiple imputation into statistical models

The first webinar, Ounce of Prevention, Strategies to Prevent Missing Data in Primary Data Collection, will be held on Tuesday, June 29 from 2-3pm ET with speakers Katy Araujo and Mary Geda.

This session is designed to:

  1. Understand negative effects of missing data
  2. Identify prevention strategies to minimize missing data in primary data collection
  3. Review real-world examples used in successful clinical trials
