Resilience and Reserve in Aging

a Workshop

Tuesday, 11/12/2019 to 11/13/2019.   ARCHIVED EVENT

Location: Austin, TX

The problems facing our older population are complex and it is unlikely that solutions will be found applying a single field’s methods and approaches. With this in mind, the goal of the NIA’s Research Centers Collaborative Network (RCCN) is to bring together scientists from the 6 NIA Centers programs to foster cross-center collaborations around issues important to the health and well-being of older adults. Part of this mission involves hosting a series conferences to discuss issues related to aging and improving the health of older adults.

The RCCN’s third 1.5 day conference will focus on resilience and reserve in aging. The meeting will include sessions on Contributors to Resilience and Reserve, Operationalizing Reserve in the Context of Social Adversity, Resilience: Bouncing Back from Surgery, and Contributors/Interventions to Build Resilience/Reserve. The meeting will be preceded by a session for early career investigators. Read the full agenda for this meeting here.
We will be streaming the workshop live online.
