Honor/Award

On May 4, 2012, Anatoliy Yashin received the Mindel C. Sheps Award in San Francisco for his contributions to the methodological foundations of demography. One of the most prestigious international awards in demography, the prize is given biennially by the Population Association of America and the University of North Carolina School of Public Health for important single or lifetime contributions. Yashin was honored for his work on developing and applying advanced mathematical and statistical methods to understanding the fundamental determinants of aging.
