Gary King says bias likely in SSA’s demographic and financial forecasts

The Social Security Administration predicts a depletion of its trust funds by 2033. Gary King and his colleagues say the situation is worse than that. “Social Security is going to be insolvent before everyone thinks,” says King, largely because SSA forecasts have been overstating the program’s financial health since 2000.
