"Eating Curry May Improve Memory and Happiness, New Study Says" - Newsweek. 01/23/2018
Results from an 18-month study of adults aged 51 to 84 years found improvements in memory, attention abilities, and mood in patients taking a daily curcumin supplement. Curcumin is found in turmeric, often used in curry as well in Ayurvedic medicine. Gary Small of UCLA’s Longevity Center says: “Exactly how curcumin exerts its effects is not certain, but it may be due to its ability to reduce brain inflammation, which has been linked to both Alzheimer’s disease and major depression.” The findings overall suggest that taking a curcumin supplement could “provide meaningful cognitive benefits over the years,” Small said.
