A recent report in South Korea projects a sharp decrease in population over the next few generations and a national population of zero by 2750. What’s going on? Thomas Anderson and Hans-Peter Kohler’s research suggests that South Korea’s changing age structure can be attributed to “steadfast parental drive to have competitive and successful children.” This requires huge personal and financial inputs that fosters low birth rates by favoring “quality over quantity”
