"Why Women Should Keep Working After Their Husbands Retire" - Wall Street Journal. 04/03/2018

In her analysis of data from the Health and Retirement Study, Nicole Maestas concludes that married women have much more to gain than their husbands from delaying their retirement. She says that continuing to work until age 70 vs. 62 would boost their total lifetime Social Security benefits about about 10%, and ““would be sufficient to offset early gaps in their earnings records,” placing them on par with men.
