In a special supplement to the *Journals of Gerontology, Series B*, a group of international cross-disciplinary researchers examine dementia in the US. Emanating from an NIA-funded 2017 workshop, the nine featured papers in this supplement provide important new evidence on the prevalence, disparities, and trends in Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias among older Americans.
